I am starting to think most of the OTR "starter companies" are much the same in pay. They rearrange their payment per mile and other benefits and deductions, but in the end it seems to work out much the same. For this reason I am starting to look at other "real world" factors that will make mylife as an OTR trucker more comfortable.
Idoubt any company will have 100% APUs (Auxiliary Power Unit) in their trucks, but what company seems to run them more than others?
Of the 8 or so starter companies which one has APUs in more of their trucks?

Stevens is a 100% APU equipped starter company.
passport220 and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
My company, Earl L. Henderson Trucking has APU's on every truck in the fleet. While they don't have a school where you can get your license, they will take students and finish up your training which takes 9 to 12 weeks. Their equipment is nice, I don't think we have any company trucks older than 2010.

Central Ref doesn't on most of them. If you lease you can get one for sure. Talking with Willis Shaw most of them have APU's and Maverick recruiters said most of their fleet have them as well.

TransAm has APUs on all of their trucks. They don't have a program to get your CDL, but they do hire right out of school.

Not sure if any of them have a terminal near you !!!!!

Prime has APU's as well as 1500 inverters installed. Cost to start training is below $200. They feed ya for the orientation week and put you up in a hotel, free of charge. -
When considering the starter companies, whether they had an APU or not wouldn't be high on the list...
