Have you ever been a referee or an umpire? If you have, then you know what it is like to have to enforce rules that you did not make, cannot change, and may not make a whole lot of sense.
We are just the guys in the striped shirts on the sidelines whose job it is to throw a flag on you when we see violations of the rules.
Just like in sports, the rules get made and changed by the folks up in the airconditioned suites, usually with little input from the players, and no input from us in the striped shirts. But you and I both have to figure out how to comply with those rules down on the field.

Are you one of the "replacement refs" or are you one of the "real refs"?

i took a military aptitude test in highschool that siad i should be a cop, my mother used to tell me that i am not superman, "you cant save the world"
i love standing up for right and for the underdog
however, i colud never enforce or follow laws or rules i dont believe in
i couldnt be a cop, drive 80mph to work, and give people tickets for driving 65
its the epitome of hypocrisy
i could never "enforce" grown men when to go to bed -
So don't drive 80, follow the rules. Lead by example. Nothing says you have to be a hypocrite, it's a choice.otherhalftw and 'olhand Thank this.

you missed the last line
i could never see myself punishing grown men for sleeping 8hrs, or idling more than 3 min -
I get it, we've had that conversation where you don't like rules.
-
i would rather deal with right vs wrong
rules are subjective to political whims -
They never said the 28 virgins are woman. You might get there and it be all those star trek or comic book geeks that lives in their mothers basement. All virgins for u. Lol.

The only time they watch the e-logs is when Plaintiffs Council Subpoenas the records. 30 years ago the county prosecutor wouldnt even think about coming after a driver over his hours & being in a wreck where someone is hurt or killed. Now days, they have an 8 by 4 room reserved in your name.
