After being laid off from my local gig due to covid I went back over the road (kind of) it's mostly a regional home weekly CA/AZ/TX run with the occasional long run . I only get paid 45 cpm however look at my net pay . That's after California taxes , investments , etc . Paid every two weeks

So I'm averaging ~ $1400 per week Take home only getting paid 45 cpm

When I first called this company we didn't talk mileage pay, I just asked what the drivers actually made on avg in 2019 ... So far I'm getting more money than promised

If that were a good job they would not be "desperate and shorthanded". Good jobs rarely advertise because drivers are happy and hence there's very low turnover. Many/most OTR jobs are easily turning over 80-100%+ per year.

My company pays 60 cents per hub mile with a 2500 mile guarantee. Average miles across the fleet last week was 2750. Highest driver was 3600 miles.

So, yeah it’s definitely out there. Although many esteemed TTR members think drivers are a dime a dozen, there’s actually a big shortage of good drivers.

$1400 take home at .45 cpm!?!? What kind of miles are you running to get that? 3,000 mi X .45 cpm = $1350 gross. Unless there's accessorials or something else, you are running pretty #### hard for that money.

I do run very hard .

We also get paid per stop plus detention . We have lots of multi pickup and multi drop produce loads ..

An example of a common run for me would be a 4 pickup produce load in Salinas , CA to different grocers in Houston ... Then Chicken from Louisiana to Phx , AZ. Then a 34-48 at home and on the way from CA to TX I get a 10 at the house .. That's 1850 loaded miles to Houston , 230 empty miles to Louisiana and 1350 loaded miles to Phx Az .. That's 3500 miles plus stop pay, plus detention if any

In case you're wondering their trucks can run the speed limit in every state and it's common to do 720 miles per shift and still have time left running AZ TX NM

The last settlement that's a bit higher is me staying out straight 2.5 weeks so far .... The settlement that's a little lower is taking off 4 days straight .

My last CPM gig, I was making 69cpm. Look at private fleets hauling their own products.

Recruiter says all of their drivers make $100k and are home 6.5 days per week.
