off to orentation

2 things. The first is a willingness to learn. The second is patience.

 

Actually there are a couple of questions you can ask yourself:

1. Which company's orientation will I be attending AFTER this one?

2. How much gas will it take to drive my own vehicle to this week's orientation?

3. How much gas will it take to drive my own vehicle to NEXT week's orientation?

4. Can I combine 2 and 3 into one "tour" and avoid going back to the house?

5. If #4 is "yes", how much can I save by simply driving to next week's orientation from this week's orientation?

Hey, don't laugh, man. If the crap gets too deep........

Like I said, Biggen, you may quickly realize Werner's a crock and walk away. Hopefully, you'll drive to that orientation in Omaha using your own wheels. When you leave that smoke and light show, you should drive west on I-80 about 50 miles to Lincoln. Crete's home office is in Lincoln, and they will have an orientation class beginning the week after next. When you walk away from Werner, you won't have to wait long. Doing this will save you some gas money, as you'll avoid going back home on day one, setting up the CCC orientation, and then driving to Lincoln from your house next weekend.

And if the BS gets deep quickly at Werner, just be sure to walk out before you get hired on officially.

 

Good luck with the job. I have heard alot of bad here and other places about Werner, but at the same time, I have talked to Werner drivers that actually liked the job.

As I would tell anybody, communicate well with your dispatcher once you get out on the road. If the communication appears to not work, make sure you have your situations documented and request another one. You shouldn't have to suffer at any job do to a worthless dispatcher, but at the same time, make sure you are doing your part to stay in communication.

As for orientation - Read the paperwork they give you. Don't fall for the BS of "you are going to get a copy that you can read later". Don't sign things until you read them.

are you a gluten for punishment ? any one of those companies will eat you up , being a newbie in this industry. they will take advantage and use you til either you quit or they are done with you and make you mad enough to quit so they can mess with your DAC. i work for JB and i wouldn't even work for one of those companies and i don't recommend JB to a newb either.

 

Bro you just mentioned three of the worst companies to start with. You may want to look into Roehl or Big Orange.

Geez,I feel like Dr. Phil, What were you thinking. After all these posts I cannot believe you are not at least trying to better yourself. Werner and Swift, I went by greyhound a few times for orientation out of maine, I asked the busdriver which companies that drivers leave by greyhound and come back by greyhound,they have all told me this,Jb hunt,swift,werner, national freight,sneider, ats, those are the ones they remember most,the latter three the drivers seem to come back less. This is just maine area. Best of luck to you. One thing you will notice as do alot of our drivers out there,look at the drivers appearance,their demeanor,how they act or speak,then you will have some idea of our suggestions to newbees,above all,look how they drive out there,work for a company with the best drivers that will take you,take the ball,hint,and run with it,be at your best and your next choice,I hope,will be the best one and stay for many years. best of luck to you.
