As for your regen, run the engine at the lowest possible rpm you can, lugging it. That drives up the EGT’s and should help burn out the DPF. If that doesn’t work, my shop turns on the engine fan, puts a brick on the accelerator, and leaves the truck sit for 30min. They say that always cleans them out. Our foodservice drivers always leave their tractors idle and they never get long enough heat into them, between stops, to clean them out. Constant problem.
Off topic but what is going on Louisiana

showed it to me and it indeed was loose
I got out my tools and tried to tighten the nut but it was not possible to turn it ,
Had to call a road service to hit it with the air gun .
Apparently a new leaf spring had been installed a few weeks earlier before I bought the truck and I’d neglected to have the U bolts tightened after a few days of driving it .
obviously I’d not done a through pre trip inspection , nor had the roadside inspector done a real good job at the previous scale house a coupe hours before .
Started my career driving a IH 9670 cabover with leaf springs and no power steering .
At least it had working AC ,
and I made enough money in a few months to pay cash for a five year old Ford LTL 9000
I couldn’t afford a used Pete or KW , but the Ford had the same BC 400 Cummins and the same 13 speed trans as the paccar trucks , for less than half price .
drove it for a couple of years and bought another IH cabover , this time a 9700 with double bunk , air ride axles , power steering and the set back steer axle .
Over the years I had a Freightliner cabover , a Freightliner FLD ,and another Ford 9000, but the 9700 cabover with the set back steer axle was my favorite rig ever .Last edited: Sep 9, 2023

So if it needed an air impact to get tightened, what did the inspector use to break it loose?
Keepforgettingmypassword and Snow Hater Thank this. -
previous inspector obviously missed it
As did the driver who clearly wasn’t doing a proper pre trip once a week…loudtom and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this. -
My current truck has electrical glitches from the peoplenet box that got pulled out last month. It was causing all kinds of havoc.
Anytime a glitch won't go away. I have to shut the truck off for 5 minutes.
When it needs a regen. I have to shut truck off for 5 minutes to get it to kick on.
I don't know how that's going to work in January when it has heated parameters it needs to kick on.ducnut and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this.
