Can’t shift manual? Is trucking getting that bad? Growing up my dad wouldn’t let us near a road ranger until we knew how to drive twin stick.

supremegod, Oxbow and Tall Mike Thank this.

That's the way it should be I abused my dad's super ten for all of about 30 miles before I bought my 18 it helps I've been driving sticks since I was 14 or so. Never had a chance to run twins though

    Tall Mike Thanks this.

Dude you can’t just go rent a big truck with an eatin trans. That’s bs myth. This guy is screwed. Shifting is an art and takes time to get the hang of and not look like a fool. He gonna panic if he hits a hill and has to downshift. He gonna miss the gear or destroy the gear box and be stuck on the hill. So much I can say about this but this guy is gonna learn real quick he isn’t qualified yet

He has no experience. Those guys in trucking school still can’t shift without jamming gears and grinding and stalling out. Let alone hit a downshift on uphill or start on a hill. Takes a long time to get the hang of. This guy isn’t qualified for the job

DTP, bryan21384 and weldertotrucker23 Thank this.

Just saying bro. The average joe with a cdl can’t rent a cdl tractor from Penske or whatever. Those days are over where people would rent trucks, beat on them and get cdl. No bad blood brotha

    CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

And how many kids do you have that are truck drivers?

Had the prior generation of truck drivers sired and trained enough offspring to keep America’s trucks filled with top notch driver we wouldn’t have truck driving schools and immigrants stepping off an airplane and into a leased beat up Volvo.
