I can show you 15 new FL'S auto that get better then my new FL stick. All at the same company. My truck was special ordered with a stick. And the last in the fleet to have a stick.

In the beginning i would have agreed with you.

I got a 20 minute run down then “ok you can get down the road, give her hell! Call if you need anything .”

Hahah I was awful but got by. It was also a 20 year old international worth about seven dollars.

I'm wondering how you managed to pass on a stick shift if you were trained with auto?
Because if you took the test with the auto you would have the restriction.

Something really smells bad with your story.

    JReding and DTP Thank this.

I dunno. I see how my auto shifts, and I'm like "How is this more efficient?"

Are the MPG's at your company calculated by old-school math, or by what the computer says they get?

Like i said. I would have agreed with you in the beginning. My first trip out was in an auto and it SUCKED. He just started getting autos so he only had 3 at that time. By the time i left. My truck was the only stick. He trades in trucks in every 3 years. Does it through the england program.

    GAllons divide by miles.

At the school I went to, there were no sticks, only auto's. I tested out in a automatic, but do not have a restriction on my license.

I currently have no way to practice as I don't have a stick available. No friends, can't find any trucks to rent, so at the moment, I'm viewing as many upshift/downshift youtube videos as possible and I'm asking for truckers advice at truckstops on shifting.

Hopefully by monday, i'll be good to go. I'm expecting it to be bumpy, but I'm hoping to get the hang of it just enough to get the job done. I'll be working the morning shift so there will be a lot of traffic. I'll just take it one step at a time.

Telling them I can't drive a stick is not an option as I already told them I have.
