    So I have a 1994 3406E CAT.

My question is, my mechanic doing my system install insisted on using a system that uses "Paper" filters instead of "Yarn style" filters.

edit: To clarify, he said the "Paper" style were preferred because they are less likely to remove the lubricating properties of the oil per Caterpillar.

I've tried doing some research to figure out what the hell hes talking about.

I asked him to install a "OPS Ecopur" system because I watched some videos and it was recommended by Kevin Rutherford.

But he doesn't know much about the filters used, I can't find it either.

    Thanks in advance

The centrifuge bypass filtering systems seem to very well, especially on the older engines that deal with soot in the oil.

Also, please dont take much that Kevin Rutherford says very serious. He a sell out con that gets paid by these manufacturers to promote their rip off products usually.

Heres the system brand I have and it works great
