Today I went out and checked oil in the truck and it had a oil change 20 miles ago and oil looked almost milky. So I went a got a glass to pull some oil out of the pan and for probably 45 minutes it had this white stuff on top of the oil before it disappeared. The oil is black as black. Can’t see it at the bottom of the glass. It’s usually around 10,000 miles before the oil starts to change colors so it’s definitely not right. Seems like the oil is thin already. Run 15-40 rotella. Lately I’ve been having an issue with the truck at idle (800rpm) the turbo starts to boost to 5-10. Knock idle back down to 700 it stops. Or bump it up to 1000 it stops. But between 800-1000 it has excessive exhaust back pressure. That’s getting looked at today. I was leaning towards that being the vgt actuator. Idk. COVID ruined my taste and smell so I can’t smell anything either.
Oil change 20 miles ago and it is already black with white on top

I’ve tried looking up symptoms and really not finding much but have seen a couple post where people asked if there trucks had fuel heaters and people never responded after that. The weird idle boosting didn’t start until I had the truck plugged in over night to the Engine Block Heater/ Fuel Heater (on the same plug) and it fried the electrical cord that was plugged in. Started truck and got a code for nox sensor and replaced that and code hasn’t come back up. Did notice month ago the breather from crank case started leaking oil not bad but enough to know it was there. Tighten up clamps and that helped but still have some coming from breather. Took that all off and cleaned it all up and noticed the parts of the hoses have a baked white burn to them. I think around the same time fuel mileage started going down a bit. -
Did you change the oil yourself? If no, go back to who did it, inspect their oil storage arrangements. Sounds like condensation in their new oil. Maybe they changed the brand, grade/weight of oil and didn’t tell you.

Maybe that block heater cooked the oil? Why does your truck idle so high?

Were you present when they changed the oil to see if they drained it completely or changed it at all? I know it might have been a little awkward to do it right in front of them, but by any chance did the check your oil level prior to departure? I see that you trust your shop, but mistakes are made everyday.
