Hey guys!
I m back! I have to ask you guys this. So i just changed my shop for oil change and these new guys used baldwin filters and the older shop used to use fleet guard filters. So now i have oil consumption. Like 3 quarts in about 4k miles. I have a 2015 international prostar with cummins isx. The 2015 was a bad design by cummins so i got it overhauled like 240k miles ago. It has a total of 588k miles on it but the motor only has 240k. Please any help would be great. Thanks

Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Also, i forgot to add the truck has been deleted. And it has the new APR system with cummins.

If you think the different filters are causing it, just put a Fleet Guard on and see if goes back to normal. Also, check around for new leaks. Especially around the drain plug or filter housing. Have you topped the oil back up and seen it fall short again? It's possible they never filled it all the way up too. Some shops prime the filter and some don't.

I believe this is a known issue with Cummins. You have to go do their $800 oil change.
