Can anyone describe to me exactly what you do when driving for Coil Tubing and Fracturing companies? What is a Flush By? Cement? Acid? Nitrogen?
What do you do when you aren't driving? I can't seem to find any info on the jobs.

Fracturing is the process of pushing material into a well to open it up and flow better. Depending on the company you will haul flatdeck trailers with equipment, specialized tractors that haul the tanks for holding fluid and mixing. Acid is a pumping tandem truck or pump trailer that transports fluid as well you would haul fresh water for the cement mixers on site. Cement can either be self explanatory (cement mixer truck duh) or can mean hauling flat decks of dry cement in for an onside mixer. Any of these jobs will require onsite training by the company so I would just apply and let them sort out what they want you to do

And when not driving you sleep. Oil field exemption means your putting in 16 hour days by the time your clock runs out you will be hard pressed to get something to eat , shower and find a place to take a dump that isn't in a field at -30'with the wind blOwing
thelongwalker Thanks this. -
Btw if your applying try to have standard first aid, h2s alive beforehand as well if you can find a place in bc to do GODI training it will really help

in most cases, driving is only 10% of your job duties. when not driving you would be operating the equip on the truck. trican well servicing has alot of useful videos on the fracing, cementing jobs they offer. one job of a coil tube is to wash the sand out of the hole, where a soapy water-air combination is sent down the hole and flushes it back into a tank and the vac trucks haul it out for disposal. to find out about flushby's check out videos on you tube. basiclly it's a small truck mounted oil rig that services the oil wells.

I've just done the H2S course. I have TDG and WHIMIS as well. There is a job that interests me at Sanjel. It's bulk sand trucks. Super B-Trains I think. Know anything about that? Thanks for your informative posts by the way, I really appreciate you guys chiming in.

If I remember correctly you did the online H2S course, the companies usually require "H2S Alive" which is a one day course with a practical component. Available in Kamloops every 2 weeks from Valhalla.

Oil field truckin' ain't for everyone just like truckin' in general ain't for everyone. It'll seperate the boys from the men for sure because you won't spend but maybe 20-30% of you time driving, the rest will be on the ground doing manual labor.

I did the one day H2S Alive course here in Victoria with the practical (BA) component and CPR
