Had truck towed to M&K truck center in Byron MI. Today. Been reading on line about the D13 bull gear. Evidently it has a tendency to come loose and scrape beon bell housing which destroys the motor. If I had known about this potential I would have pulled transmission and secured the bull gear but with loctite for 2K.

Update 8/12/2019
Bull gear and idler gears all good.
Had an apparent lube system failure.
Two of the mains are obviously overheated. Tech said it looked like someone took a torch to them. Engine is seized up.
At that point it it was determined that a remanufactured engine is best option.
I found a replacement through JSJDiesel.com. Cost 14K and change but it's a 2014 with 240k miles..and matches my existing 2013 VNL engine serial and rev level. D13*0000000*H1*HLast edited: Aug 14, 2019

Hello all..I have volvo 2015 with d13. Its motor died after it gave low oil pressure warning and halted on the highway. Got the reman engine installed from the volvo dealership. On the highway truck still shows 45psi oil pressure. It should be 60psi. Dealership told me to bring truck back but are not able to solve the issue. Any ideas?

I’m having this exact issue with a 2014 Volvo change the oil pressure sensor and still wont go pass 30psi
