I honestly can say we haven't slowed down. Yet. They have made some cuts to supervisors bonuses and are keeping new SSE employees at 40 hours (they say) and then some in management have taken a 10% pay cut off until it straightens back out. Last week we were the busiest yard in Texas with over 1700 billable hours worked. At this point the work is still there for us and they haven't cut any drivers yet because we are so busy. That doesn't mean that something won't change next week. At least oil priced have risen a bit. Any little bit helps!

As Drivers .. yes we are still swamped here in west tx.... all the produced water and oil has to be moved off of the hundreds of new wells they have drilled plus the thousand's of old ones... but the oilfield over all has slowed Tracy. .. we are neighbors. .. just look at the slow down in the traffic.. it was 10 times worse 2 months ago... not sure about days cause I work nights... but there is hardly anyone out anymore at night except us drivers moving oil and water...

I'm in South Texas and it used to be a mad house in the Eagle ford at night. Not nearly as much truck traffic on nights as there was just six months ago.

It is slowing down. My company has begin to acknowledge it but my hours haven't been cut. I know we are still hiring for all of our yards as well.

My hope is to get at least one more year of this money before I settle into something locally in San Antonio.

I've been dragging my feet on getting my hazmat. I'm forcing myself up early tomorrow to go get the book and study. Hauling fuel would be a decent paying gig to replace my current job out in the patch.

it doesn't matter if they lay off a hundred thousand people they are an oil service company not an oil company once the wells are drilled they are not going to Shut them off so those of us who haul the oil out of the production tanks to the pipe lines have job security

I agree. I am just saying we haven't seen a slow down yet at our yard. It may be coming but we haven't seen it at our yard.

A friend of mine at the Iraan yard said if it wasn't for the Big Lake yard being so busy that he wouldn't have any hours, because the Iraan area is mostly dead. What I think is odd that the Iraan yard is still looking for drivers.

Does anybody else see the hilarious irony of people looking for jobs in a thread titled "Oilfield laying off?"

The companies that own all of their trucks and equipment, and don't owe the bank millions of dollars in business loans. The companies that have been around and survived previous booms and busts. There are very few that are like that
