Hey everyone sorry im not posting as much as i used to . Things are going really well at Thomas im now a lead driver because we are expanding at such a rapid pace . In fact they just brought some guys from arkansas down to cover while they try to hire more drivers! I have all the paperwork and coordination with the fuel deliveries down cold so i think im ready. Ive been out these last two days with my crew to EOG-2 thats a energy company and their sites are some of the smaller ones we do only 14 pumps at a time. Its kinda cool they have the confidence in me to let me run a job but ive been working real hard to prove ive got what it takes!
My real name is william Ellern so if youve applied or are going to apply hit me up. Ive been doing 80 plus hours every week so its been just work and sleep all the time but the paychecks really help to ease the pain of lack of sleep lol!
Im nowhere near the border for those of you who have been wondering but i do work with a lots of hispanics lol. Most of them are great hardworking dudes theres only a few that are slackers and need to go. We just got a new dispatcher who thinks the same way and is very enthusiastic about the job and making things run better but it remains to be seen if his ideas are adopted or not. Its been my experience that its easier to get rid of people that want to change things than it is to change. Only time will tell if he prevails...

We were on the job today and something went wrong so they have to call out coil-tubing so i get a few more hours of sleep tonight so i have time to write a little ,i kinda feel guilty when i dont reply to all your questions ya know ,but keep them coming !

In answer to your question Paul you can work more than 100 hours you just gotta let the office know specially now since we are so short of drivers,we just picked up Tri-Cam fracking and Halliburton. Are you considering it cause im pretty sure youd enjoy the few hours you have off here on south padre more than Sonora specially with spring break coming up lol.

i pay 725 a month for a one bed in a nice area. it would be 625 but i insisted on a 6 month lease for flexability. $1500 take home is about what im making more or less it would be more if i wanted to work more

vegaspainter, glad to hear you found a good paying job with lots of hours, but i don't want to be a roughneck i want to be trucking. pretty soon the hours and work will wear on your body, much rather be in a truck.

    good luck man

Re-fueling on the wellsite is pretty easy. These guys (Suncoast) would refuel our pumps in between zones and all they did was take a hose from the truck to the tank, fill, and thats it. They spent most of their time cabbed up.

Hey Vegas & Paul Couto...I've been following your posts and appreciate all the info you have provided here. I start CDL classes on 2/13 and should have training and all endorsements done by the first or second week of March. I plan on booking a trip to Texas on the 10th or 11th of March and driving around south Texas (Corpus Christy, Victoria, and Kenedy) applying for work. I currently have a job in FL which I would like to give 2 weeks notice to- as a former employer I can appreciate time to find new help & also want to leave on good terms- so I'd like to ask either of you if you believe the hiring will still be strong at that point (mid to late March). I don't want to come to a market that may be saturated with drivers and not have the hours/potential income available that you guys getting. I see that htbr8kr and Hornet are either there or soon will be so I look forward to their posts as well. Any news either of you or anyone else can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again to you guys and everyone else on here who have given me a chance to consider a new start in Texas while still holding down a home in Florida.
