You haven't hauled a truckload full of marshmallows! Seriously, that was a fun load. Never in my life have I ever seen a warehouse full of people that were just ecstatic about everything! But maybe they were all hyped up on excess sugar. And those folks were waaaaaay too eager to give out boxes of their product to the drivers. They wouldn't even take no for an answer for some reason. But this all occurred a long time ago.....

Are there pics of the OD loads in this thread? I haven't even made it to page 2 yet.....

So without Googling or searching Wikipedia for the answer to this question, does anyone know why the state of New Mexico is called the "Land of Enchantment"? I don't really get the sensation of being enchanted when I'm there. Bored, maybe, but never enchanted. Where are the fiestas? The loud music? The good food? No, I don't want to go to a shopping plaza to experience the above. I want all of this materialize out of thin air at three in the morning when I'm parked on the edge of an off ramp staring out into space.....

So, yeah, back to oilfields. Do you guys work insanely long hours? Maybe the answer lies within all twenty-something pages of this thread. But I'll get through it all one of these days.

 

LOL....no we usually work 5 or 6 am (me 630 usually) til about 4:30 pm...m~f.......today i went in at 5 cuz had to go to roswell to load.....but normally i go in bout 6:30.....

well CB's boss has him driving again..THANK GOODNESS...they got some contracts lined up...so he is back in his end dump...thats good cuz he busted just about all his knuckles up twisitng that wrench..LOL..

so things are calming back down again...and thats good....

the land of enchanment....hmmm...maybe cuz its the only other place that they consume so many burritos besides mexico...heck i dunno....i dont mean that mean...just a fact..LOL

 

Your schedule doesn't seem bad at all. You work ten hours five days a week and then you're back at home (thinking about being back at work driving down the road! ). That's almost as easy as my work week. So, what type of super top-secret commodities do you haul up to Roswell? I know, I know....don't ask, don't tell, it never happened, you never hauled it, we didn't see anything, swamp gas, weather balloons, blah blah blah......

And CB, that sucks that your knuckles are all busted up. It's called anger management, man! Woo-sah....woo-sah....(you aren't immune to my crap, either! ). And hurry up and get your behind back online when you have free time to write about your experiences!

LOL...LOL....LOL....no i actually ran mt to roswell and loaded hot mix to bring over to a power plant that is doing some road paving....so nothing exciting...too bad, i guess i will need to come up with some lil green men stories huh?? LOL..altho i dont think they would be happy to be transported in a belly dump....i could see em now peeking out from under the tarp....

his knuckles are healing cuz he is back to driving..LOL

Oh, so is that the code name of the stuff that you hauled from Roswell??? "Hot....mix...."....hmmm.....sure, it's probably belly dump lingo but what exactly IS hot mix? What part of New Mexico's version of Nevada's Area 51 did you haul that hot mix from? Is hot mix some sort of secret concrete concocted from the wisdom of that ugly dead alien thing hidden in Roswell? I'll have to call Coast to Coast AM to talk about this amongst the other weir....I mean amongst the other in the know people. Yeah, that's it! What type of power plant plant in the middle of the desert places an order for hot mix anyway??? That's even more suspicious about that one Tyson chicken truck showing up in the middle of an apple Orchard.....what's REALLY going on, lol!

And CB hauling just dirt? I could go on for ten minutes about that one alone, lol!

And it's only 17 more days until the upcoming holidays!!! Who's throwing the party and when should we all show up?

We finally made it out of Florida yesterday. For some reason the area and the weather brought back memories of my time spent down in Kings Bay, GA.....and for some reason I had these sudden crazy thoughts about wanting to live down there, but then again I can still remember how horrible the weather is during warmer months. Humidity and misery go hand-in-hand down there and I'm not a fan of either. Not to mention the swarms of insects, alligators, wild boars, and people that shouldn't even allowed to possess a driver's license. If the United States were a human body then the Florida area would be considered the rectum. Thanks to all of the weirdos for ruining a once great state! But other than that I had a great time down there, lol!.....

There can't be THAT many secrets down in New Mexico, are there? And what do the residents call themselves down there anyway? In Nevada the people are referred to as Nevadans, California residents are referred to as Californians.....or idiots......, Texas residents are known as Texans, but what term do you guys call yourselves? Dare me to say it? Ah one....ah two.....ah one, two, three four.....

CB? Giggles? I now pronounce you as New Mexicans. How does it feel? Don't feel too bad though. With me living in California that makes me an idiot. Imagine that! Me, an idiot living amongst idiots! I want out of that cesspool, gosh dang it!

And there is never anything wrong with disappearing. I'll tell all just to see where the men in black take away the folks that know too much! Just take me someplace else other than California, lol!

no news here..CB is off til the 2nd...Conoco/Phillips is shut down til then....so he is playing the wife til then...LOL..( i can get away with saying that cuz he doesnt get online)...ha ha ha ha

i go back to work tomorrow....but all of our other drivers are off til the 2nd as well....

finally got our stuff out of storage and all unpacked...(been here 4 months)...nice to have our stuff...
