I only drove for 1.5 years so it was rookie mistakes while I was a rookie. I sheared a trailer door off at a receiver in Louisiana. Was a recessed dock in too small of an area with a maxed out load. Had an African, from Africa watching my blind side helping me. He yells "Door is open Door is open" and since I was already mad that day I was like "Of course the door is open!" Then the crunch of the trailer door coming off. The tie back chain had come loose because the trailer was old and chain wouldnt stay tight.

Delivering fork lifts at a place down by the river in Knoxville, TN I took a wrong turn onto a "no trucks" road. Had to take an impossible left. Telephone pole right there at the corner. Rail road tracks across the road where I'm turning. I had to drive into the empty lot next to a house and cross the rail road tracks going through the yard to get my trailer clear of the pole. Talk about a bump! Guys at the receiver said same thing happened to a previous driver but he got hung up on the tracks!.

Yeah, this is why I carry bailing wire. Another item that works faster, better, and looks more professional is to pick up a package of those small carabiners.

It's sooo much worse when the lumpers walk up to you at the security check point carrying your door. "You dropped this!"

I just handed the truck keys to the security guard and said, "welp,, won't be needing these anymore!"

It was my first "real" accident and I thought I was fired for sure.

Not a surprise, there are so many trucks killed by rookies!

Oh I KNOW that place! I was on the phone every 200 feet. "Are you SURE this is the place?!?" The driveway is right before the bridge and there's almost no way to tell there's a huge warehouse complex down that dirt path.

Today, almost laid a container on it's side pulling into a lot at a greenhouse. Had never been there, saw the sign that said "Field Office", apparently it was the office for the actual farm field. I swung REAAAL wide, got half way in and stopped just before the tandems dropped into a 4' deep 5' wide drainage.

I've done that before! Luckily it was an empty trailer and it was high enough to dump my bags and pull out.
