Back in the day,the truck drivers(paper map) would show you where most chicken coops were. Most trucks stops have scales and 90% you'll find the Cat or truck scale before you hit the coop. Usually I'll ask the shipper, other truckers,or the nearset yellowpages(which is now the android).

There are many places to scale other than CAT scales although they won't guarantee the weight . Gravel companies , scrap yards , feed mills , trash transfer stations , and warehouses for moving van lines are some examples .

Close to the 48' mark in the trailer I set to 13 holes back. This would get me in the ballpark. Anything after the 48' mark and you would move more holes to the back.

I was trying to help. Your comment being non substantive was not. Would you care to clarify?

PMracing your isn't excatly correct. I would call the DOT scale first and ask if you scale out. It might cost a driver an inspection and there is no guarantee the scalehouse will let you scale out.

Only those worried about failing an inspection would be worried about an inspection...

How would one find the number for a scale house? Hehehehee
