A few years ago they did. Pretty good reputation now with lots of miles. Of course there will always be complainers with any reefer company, no matter how good the company is. Navajo has terminals and drop lots all across the USA. I'd work there if I wanted to pull reefers again.
Ok Ok, how do I read through all the B.S.?

Thanks Chinatown. I figured you wouldn't recommend a bad company, but I was curious.
Truthfully, my warning about the dollar account still stands. I thought you were new to the industry and wanted to warn you as that's where most newbies get caught.
The dollar accounts rarely hold on to any drivers, and for a myriad of reasons. Anything from pay, two accidents, or the work and effort involved. At the last Sni dedicated meeting, the dollar account we have had the most questions and all the complaints from the drivers.
If you're willing to do the work, then it's no wonder that Werner recruiter is so excited... I unload my own truck, and wanted to do so, the recruiter with Sni was very happy to hear that...BostonTanker Thanks this. -
Those "driver unload" accounts are junk; sure, some people are OK with it, but the turnover rate is horrendous. You can make just as much money or even more with companies that are 100% or close "no-touch" freight.
BostonTanker Thanks this. -

I would love to switch to flatbed, or tanker. It'll be rough for the first bit all learning aside but is it too weird that I actually like the feeling in my muscles and bones from a hard day's work?
Jcp isn't terrible, but there are weeks where I'll admit the check is less than desirable. Could've been anything from a slow shipper to a slow store. Some of the places that I go to I could do faster if they just get out of my way. Stein mart can easily keep up with my pace, but they take the longest to unload because they have so much. Sucks that we lost Goodyear, it was a nice account. 20 minutes at each location unloading anywhere from 20-300 tires. I could get 3 day runs done in 2 days, so those made for great checks.
There I go hijacking... Again. Sorry! -
Lol don't be sorry.

Well... let me just say, that I did the Dollar General account for Werner and never fou d it as bad as all the complaing I hear about it... and it would crack me up to hear young guys complain and whine.. and me a 50 year old woman handling it with no problem... yeah, a rolltainer full of watter is heavey.. but it is in a rolltainer and all you got to do is push it... now, sometimes, it was tougher than others... when you had an incline into the door... but. I never once had a truck that was only full of rolltainers full of water and up hill delivery only... heck some roltainers are so light I worried about the wind blowing them off the lift..
now, yes.. it is more work than drop and hook.. but, it also isnt as boring as drop and hook... you can make good money on DG..
as for the backing.. yeah there is so e tricky stores and your backing skills will be developed and challenged... but, again.. more fun and rewarding then just bumping a dock or dropping in a yard... I liked the challeges... and enjoyed them... also so e of the crazy back roads your on to get to small towns that do not even have a walmart...
so.. the DG account is not as bad as the whiners make it sound.. seriously if a 50 year old woman can do it then it isnt moving mountains... it is rolling rolltainers...
I am no longer with werner.. I was with them for about a year and a half... I just recently left werner and now of a really sweet Tow Truck gig... and I will say this.. at the interview and the guy was telling me about working in bad weather, heavy chains and such and I told him I did the Dollar General.. he raised his eye brows and then took me a more seriously... and on the road test.. of course I nailed the backing easily... and after that he asked when I could start..
my point is.. as new driver we need to get experience and so my thinking is you might as well get as much experience as you can in your first year or two.. cause then a world of opportunity is yours for the taking..
OTR does not give you the experience that a dedicated and regional account... When I OTR I could be under the dame trailer for a couple days and go all day with never backing up..Dumdriver, Vilhiem and BostonTanker Thank this. -
