US Express is out. One of their drivers hit me in Milford CT where they're building the new bridge. Lanes are narrow and 45 mph limit due to narrow lanes. Driver sped up to pass me ( I was doing 45 in my tank ) he tore off my mirror. Kid crapped himself when I had him pull over. Early 20's asian kid. Reccomended to him he go back to driving honda's.
    Roehl has weird policies.
HO Wolding not in their hiring area.
Frymiller is a go if I want it.
Conway, maybe. But I see their local trucks. All I see when I think conway is old junky sterling trucks.
The others, I am looking into. Thank you

    BrenYoda883 and Chinatown Thank this.

Why? I wouldn't send my enemy to arrington towing In peabody ma, but some may enjoy what they have to offer. Werner is offering me a more regional position, can run for months if I want, be within 2 days of home at all times if there's an emergency. Dental which I don't have now, a place to hang my hat as I start out. Like I said, I can go play with trash trucks tomorrow and make close to $70k and be home all weekend. Don't forget, werner pays tuition reimbursement and there's a $5000 sign on bonus for DT right now. 36 cpm and $193 per trailer. I'm not some fat lazy trucker who don't want to work. It cannot be as bad as working 36 hours straight during snow emergencies or back to back 100 year floods in the wrecker industry as I've done. I've done 115 hour weeks in the wrecker industry. I'm not defending Werner no more than any where else. Guess which recruiter has spent the most time on the phone with me and through email correspondence? Give you a clue, it wasn't some of the better companies I was told to put an applicaton in.

Not sure if you think I'm pushing Sni... But whatever. I don't push Sni and when I do recommend them I give the whole story from my perspective. Not what the recruiters and those who bleed orange will tell you. ;)

The reason, if I had to guess, they sit is because otr drivers are a dime a dozen. If they would switch their job with Sni, they wouldn't sit. It is EXTREMELY rare I'm sitting around doing nothing unless I'm at a slow as hell shipper that's supposed to be loading me.

I never did otr and don't intend to.

We've all heard enough horror stories about Werner to be wary and warn others of them. Doesn't mean they can't turn that image around. Swift is attempting to do so. Sni used to be a severe botto feeder and I've heard ample stories to prove it. They are far from perfect even now, but better from what I've heard of other companies.

Do what you will. You've been warned and should you have a good experience then I implore you to tell us!

That's a fairy tale!! If you run hard, deliver on time and have accurate ETAs, there is no better place to be, unless of course, you get into oversize loads. When you're getting paid by the mile, miles count! I run at least 3300 to 3900/ week and I'm preplanned 100% of the time.

Signing on with the right company you're most definitely correct. I have not run otr so I can't speak from experience.

I was with Werner for a year and a half... and did not experience the crap that all the horror stories said... I was given nice equipment, they kept me running and I earned a good paycheck each week... I switched accounts every 4 to 6 months and took advantage of all the sign on bonuses which added an extra $1000 to $1200 a month....

Werner has a lot of drivers.. some with many years driving for werner and many new drivers.. the ones who complain are the new drivers who are not cutting it.. poor driving, late loads, poor time management and trip planning and so they dont get the safety or on time bonuses...

Still amazes me, how many drivers on here will take the word of a rookie on their 3rd or 4th company as fact and think it is the companies fault and not the piss poor drivers fault...

it is as plan as day at the terminals.. there are good deceant drivers and there are the failing drivers.. they will complain and ##### about werner.. and at the same time tell you about this late load, hitting that, getting lost, getting a ticket or violation....

it is not just in the trucking industry.. any industry knows for every 10 people you hire.. you may find two good employees... most are mediocre and a lot are piss poor...

To be fair you're right. However the quantity of them is what gets me.

We've gotten less, that I've seen, reviews at all on Werner and aside from a few trucks that I've seen lately (past 2-3 months) I haven't seen an idiot driver behind the wheel.

So as I said, if they are working to change that image then that's great. I want to see some reviews that reflect it and not just from the drivers that have been with them for a while.

Also. If it's "only" new drivers that aren't making it... Then either they seriously aren't doing the job right, or it's the training.

BrenYoda, I think you're being too generous on the 1/5 ratio... Lol
For any industry, not just this one.

    BrenYoda883 Thanks this.
