And do I have some questions, now don't everyone laugh at once! I see in the forums that people talk about fuel costs how are these paid and is any of this taken out of your pay? (yes I am having a blond moment) Is fueling time added in on your driving time, the wheels may not be turning but the clocks still ticking. I am still researching as many forums on trucking as I can before I commit to anything. Not afraid to do the work that is involved as I did manual labor rebuilding planetaries for transmissions (4 wheelers) amongst other things. Book smart I'm not ,tend to freeze up but I will pass the test if I choose to go this route. So whats it really like on your first solo trip? Do you get so nervous that you think everyone is watching you cause you have :sign2: stamped across your forehead. Just wondering.

No. Fuel is paid by the company. The people complaining about fuel prices are those who own their own trucks. Those people are called Owner Operators )O/O's
The clock keeps ticking. Once we start drive we have 14 hours to finish. And we can only drive for 11 out of those 14. Most of us refuel during our rest periods. And most trucks will go about 1300 miles between fuel stops.
It was tough. In fact, the whole first year was tough. But it was worth it. Now, I'm loose as a goose. It took almost a year to get there.
