Ok, first of all I'm sure there are all things that each and every single one of you have needed extra help with in life. 2nd Schneider's orientation is 3 days and then they road test you and then they send you out with a Training Engineer OTR. They had weeded about 3 people out of my class by the time that I left. The school where I got my license (Roadmaster) had about 30 people in the class, so all in all you might get 10 hours of time behind the wheel if you are lucky during a 3 week class. That's all in the past though. Now I'm looking for a company who can take somone who is willing to learn, teach him to the point where he can perform his job safely and get him out on the road.
Ok so I flunked out of orientation, does this mean that no 1 else will hire me?

Lots of people get sent home from orientation at SNI and some are invited back. One guy I know got sent away for backing as well. He wen't back to our school practiced all week and started orientation back up again at SNI and made it threw. A couple got sent home for aggressive habits while driving as well. SNI don't start out students at a good CPM but they are picky on who they keep. You need to have your act together because you only get maybe a week ( I got 4 days) OTR with a TE then right into your own truck running solo.

Companies fire people all the time in orientations because they can't pass the road test. Some students get out of their truck with the trainer after 6 weeks. They fail the road test they go home. Some people are just not trucker material. I do believe somebody else will pick him up. But living in Florida is going to be an uphill battle as well. Just tell the truth, because they will find out. You aren't the first and you won't be the last. Some are just slower at picking things up. I know I am.
If you have your cdl. Try Stevens, prime, or conway.flyspy Thanks this. -
You ain't done yet. Some take longer than others. With no experience the seat can be very hot until you get the picture. As time goes on and you gain experience it gets much easier. I rather drive a truck than a car sometimes.
But you fell off the horse. Dust yourself off and try again. You got your CDL didn't you?
Do a forum search on backing. We have many good threads and pointers. -

So they have driving tests before you go out with a trainer? Tough deal there. Almost unfair. Especially if you have never hooked to a 53 footer before. Although imo the longer the easier. But its still different experience. Xoes Schneider train students with 53 footers? I went to a private driving school with shorter trailers. Then went out with a trainer after orientation at Swift and then got road tested.

What is an alley dock??? Dumb question probly I just know how to back up to get in the whole. And when I was in sni training they passed people for not being able to back they just told your trainer to take extra time to teach that to you I went with another guy in my class with a te and he wouldn't let me back cause the other guy couldn't do it.

To the OP, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Shake it off as a learning experience. I got sent home from my first orientation for similar reasons. I blame it on nerves. Two weeks later was at another one with a different company and passed thiers. Everyone has a bad day at times. I actually had four orientations lined up a few weeks apart in case something went wrong. You never know what may happen if you read these forums lol.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I was good at backing when I left school and again in orientation. Then first shipper I bombed it then the next, that entire first three days I felt like I couldn't even back up straight LOL then I got a little better again and about a month later it just clicked. Like others have said don't worry about it will click for you. Everyone grinds a gear now and then and everyone takes a few extra pull ups or help backing now and then. We just usually make it look easy most of the time LOL

And what's the deal with Florida? How come it is hard to find a decent company to work for?
