How long has it been since you finished at Roadmaster, and have you driven for anyone yet?
i recommend that you try FFE, as they with put you out with a trainer for 6-8 weeks. Your road test will consist of a drive of a couple of miles or so. No backing until you get with a trainer... -
That is a great idea here. Husband did train at his last company, but the testing was done first and he would get a large majority of people who could not shift or dock. It took one of his students over 2 mo and the person was out of his truck before it finally clicked on how to get it docked.
This is why I think companies should have it to where a person starts out and stays in the truck for a longer period of time in training. His when they were turned loose knew how to map, qualcomm, etc. -
Roadmaster said that they would let me go back and do a refresher. Schneider is saying that I'll need a 40 hour refresher course. If I can go work for the pumpkin I'd like to. So I go back to school tomorrow and knock this out over the next 40 hours. The plus side of all this is I learned allot from Schneider orientation that should help me alley dock. I'll keep all of you up to date on what's going on.

It has been a LOOOOOng time since I had to do a skills test...but how does a person get a CDL to even begin to train with a company without being made to pass a basic skills test. I believe Roadmaster was the school that the OP attended, please correct me if I'm wrong, but how could they knowingly issue you a permit without 1st being sure that you had the basic skills....Its nice of them to offer you a refresher, but IF they had trained you to start with you wouldn't need it.....Is Roadmaster one of those schools that is only interested in the $$$
