    IRS processes all payments on a projected date. Many people do not realize this and get caught doing it on the last day.

    Deadline this year was three weeks after the day I paid ours. I suspect this is an IRS issue not an issue with the site I was using, since I've used them twice before, and never gotten the notice. And last year I did it two days before the deadline and no notice.

    It might have been. The IRS is dropping the ball on many other fronts.

    But, it might be interesting to see if you were billed by the third party on the timely matter and then contact them to see when they funded it. I would not put it past them to actually wait and fund many together.

    That's possible I guess. It came out of the account two days after I initiated the transaction. When I called them, they said that they electronically submitted it the day they got it.

    If I hadn't used them prior to this, I wouldn't be thinking that it was on the IRS's end at all, but since I had a track record with prior transactions, I felt pretty confident that its not them. :biggrin_25525:

    Still nothing to indicate anything abnormal with mine. E-filed on 8/29 and scheduled payment on eftps.gov right afterward, earliest possible pay date the next day 8/30. That payment cleared my bank account on 8/31.

    Sent mine in through the mail, they cashed the check but I haven't revived my copy / receipt however you refer to it as of 9/29.
