I agree. Although I have never tried to really hammer a truck into gear while sitting still it seems like it would be very difficult.
I'm not saying it didn't happen... just I don't believe the story.
okay this is my situation....

Thank you for the clarification on auto's. I've never drove one so I am dumb to how they work.
As someone who had drove an automatic, would you say this is impossible?BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
SAY IT AIN'T SO !!! First we lose the brownie trans(twin sticks for you steering wheel holder's) and you mean now the industry is going into automatics, the next thing you will be saying is the truck will drive by itself down the roads. "WHAT HAS THIS INDUSTRY COME TO"?
Thank's but No Thank's, I'll keep my MANUAL 13 speed and ENJOY going through the gear's.
BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
newer autoshift's will not go into gear if you don't push the brake first and at idle they will not move. you have to get the rpm's up to 700 before they will move and btw if the truck is set at high idle when you push drive it will cut the high idle off before it will go into gear
yes it would be impossible...! -
No was not an autoshift and we were about 3 ft from curb with tree on it. It happened just as I said. I am not lying. The trainer I had just had a horrible truck that he did not maintain. He was an O/O who NEVER went to the terminal and his windshield wipers didn't even work. When it rained he made me pull over and he drove.
