I keep reading that swift has the highest starting pay for beginner truck drivers.
Are they a good company to work for?

    Here's a good thread to follow:[h=1]From day one[/h]
As for Swift, probably a fairly good company. Huge outfit. Some drivers very successful and some just barely scraping by. Mileage pay doesn't really mean too much in the big picture; it's the accessorial pays that show a quality company that's trying to retain the best drivers. For drivers with family, the healthcare benefits are important and can take a huge chuck out of the paycheck each week. So, there's a lot to consider when choosing a company other than mileage pay.

    Accessorial pay?
You mean mike detention pay and stuff like that?

Im still trying to wrap my head around the whole pay scale in trucking, there are so many different things I have read about.
I get the driving side of things because thats my passion and I know driving but when it comes to how much you get paid and what you get payed for and whats taken out and everything else i have read, I am totally lost.
I am 100% certain that I need help figuring out what im looking for in that aspect!
