That seems to be the jist of it. If the cobra is hearing 10 miles away, and the Stryker is only hearing around 2 miles, then the problem is in the Stryker. It's not a bonding, coax, or antenna problem. Sounds like the technician in Atlanta didn't do a very good recieve alignment. Or at least someone didn't. A lot of techs struggle with the receive alignment vs the transmit alignment on a radio. Of course that's if the OP has all the settings set correctly on the Stryker, since he said he's new to CB radio, he may have some setting not set correctly.
I would agree. If the Stryker (never owned one, but I have used them when slip-seating) is sold as a 10 meter radio and had to be converted, it would need retuning. A lot of shops would just convert them and hand them back, or attempt to tune them for 11 meters and screw it up.
