Old DUI - put it on job application?

    I am a new driver applying for my first job. The application asks if I ever had a DUI. I had a DUI about 30 years ago. Am I wrong if I don't put it on the application? Will they find out and label me a liar and deny my application?

    Yes, put it on the application; they will find out anyway.

    Some applications "have you ever" or some "within the last XX years."
    Answer it just like the question asks. 30 years ago won't be a problem as to finding a good job.

    It just says "have you ever". I had three DUI's, all more than 30 years ago. It seems like another life now, and I'd rather not dig up ancient history.

    It honestly shouldn't hurt you it was 30 years ago. People have had DUI's that have been just 10 years ago and get good jobs. I think you'll be fine. Good Luck.

    Apply with companies that ask, "Have you had a DUI within the last 5 years?" Some have 7 years or 10 years.
