Have you seen what some of the modern day "teachers" look like? It's a modern day freak show in the schools, with all the garbage, like CRT, they push. Kids today don't have a chance, unless they are guided by parents who actually have values and honor. I encourage everyone to not send their kids to public indoctrination centers. Besides if you read the Communist Manifesto, it's one of the steps for the state to educate your children.
As for the Union, I did 16 years in the post office as a career employee and I never worked so little and got paid so much. -
Maybe you should apply to work for a company that has a fleet geared toward hometime, like Roehl's "hometime plus" fleet or the part-time fleets at Schneider or Ruan.

Actually I would consider myself more of a migrant worker, I'll give 100% for 4 months or so. I don't take home time, because I live abroad and that's where the family is. I've driven for Schneider before, one day short of 6 months, out of Phoenix. I never even got a free hat or t shirt from them, but they were OK to drive for.

In that case you should probably buy your own truck that way you can set your own schedule. Unless @Chinatown can hook you up with his employer, I believe he divides his time like you do yours.

Forums like this are a good place to exchange informal and formal information, that's all I'm trying to do. Ocams Razor is always on my mind.

But it *does* cost them money to rehire. All the background that is not on file must be re-run. New MVR. New DAC. Hotel. Orientation pay. D/A Screening.
There are a lot of federal rules involved that must be followed every time.
We have a high school teacher as a part-time driver. School lets out at the end of May and he has a truck awaiting him. He then runs balls-out all summer break and turns the truck in a week before teachers are required to be back on campus. Works for us, works for him. We don't terminate him, we employ him "part-time" and don't have to go through the expense every year. Knowing @VA CDL Holder 's situation, this is where he went wrong. He needs to go in to a company with the understanding in advance that he will drive for only a few months before flying home to his family for several more. If the company knows up-front, they can keep him on staff and have a truck waiting for him when he's ready to return. If not? He eventually finds this situation where his employment history looks really spotty.Last edited: May 9, 2022
