    Dumb question -

took a job with Pepsi Co as a geo box driver.

    background:
I moved out of state about 7 years ago and moved back a year later - gave them the out of state license and obtained my current instate license.

a year or so later I got my cdl.

cue to present - I applied for job, got the job, now doing the background check. The out of state one pops up on my background check. It says expired.

will this be a problem or they just look at it and say “oh ok this guy lived out of state then moved back”

just wondering if it’s a problem or do they just dismiss it.

If your current CDL is valid, that’s all that matters.

If they’re going to dig deeper for whatever reason, than they can go kick rocks.

    G13Tomcat, x1Heavy and Unclepete20 Thank this.

If they pull my old Maryland CDL it better be dead. Invalid, kaput, its gone Jim, vaporized etc. I still have the original dl number from high school through Class A and then CDL to my current arkansas car license. It would only take a road trip, fees and tests etc to get CDL back in my state minus a minimum time with permit.

And that CDL history will follow you for a while to go. It's coming from the federal CDL database that was designed to stop duplicate CDLs. It's virtually impossible today to have more than one CDL. Once you move a CDL from one state to another that old CDL becomes null and void automatically. No harm no foul, keep on trucking hand!

Sometimes the company providing the MVR service includes a foot note of the 'surrendered' former XYZ state CDL.....

They just did a background check on your driving history. Most cases it’s 3 years, sometimes more. If you had another state license within 3 years in most cases, it will show up. As long as it was clean(no suspension). You’re golden
