I've had and worked many a job. Too many to list. Most of them sucked, and i hated most of em'
Up to and including my 20 in the Marines.
I can promise you! One of the very first things out of Marine 'Boot" invcorpotates into their vocabulary?
Is~ "This ______sucks!
I've racked freaking sand into some sort of Buddhist Zen pattern covered in a plot with painted rocks that I painted, only to be told ~ ORDERED to paint them a different color.
I've been ORDERED to mop up fteaking rain with a mop and bucket!
I've not only cut grass with a child's kindergarten sicsoors? But have plucked them with twessers!
Insane? Crazy?
Yep!
Until as I was painting those rocks?
Mopping up the rain while it was raining?
Trimming grass with twessers!
Clipping grass with blunt nose kindergarten sissors?
And then?
I understood the lesson.
The genuis of if?
The simcity of it?
The complexity of it?
The sycronivity of it?

Thanks Scout, that's good "dope"
(For non Marines? "Dope" is Marine lingo for accurate windage and elevation when sighting in [we call it "zeroing" or "zeroing in"] a rifle on a target)

Went by the county court house and lucked up and found the Social Security office open.
They do it by a video monitor via something akin to Skyoe?
Anyway I ordered a new Social Security card. I laminated the one I have only to discover that a lot if companies won't accept it if it's laminated.
Went by my doctor's office, that just Si hapoens to conduct the DOT physicals for Wiley Sanders Truck lines.
My TriCare health insurance won't cover it? So it's going to cost me $75 out of pocket to get a DOT medical Card ~ Certificate.
That's alright. Better to know up front than get down the road only to be rejected for medical issues and have to ride the Big Grey Dog back home.
I don't anticipate any issues. Don't really have any? No problem with diabetes, sleep aptheia, high or low blood pressure. If anything I read the part of having to do a 'duck walk"
That might be a problem as i broke my femur (thigh bone) on my right side six years ago and I've a pin and plate holding it together.
Cross that bridge when I get to.it.
Then I checked with the eye doctor about an eye exam. I believe my eyesight, but I'm near sighted, and would like to have then just in case.
Sent off for my birth certificate. I've got one around here somewhere but I've not a clue as yi where it is?
Just easier to go to the county health department and pay the $15
If I can swing it in time, plan on getting my passport & TWIC card. I know a lot of companies don't require, some do. Be a nice to have.
Decided to go with Prime as my first pick. Someone text me that as a veteran my contractural obligation would only be nine months vs twelve. If course ivd got to confirm that with the PRIME recruiters, and yes I know they'll lie to you.
I decided to go with PRIME as they seem to be the path of least resistance.
And have a system set up to do everything they can do to help you transition into the new lifestyle of becoming a trucker. -
Had to step up my time schedule somewhat. Things continue to get worse where I work. Korean management wanted to lay off the temp workers on 2nd shift, but the American side how damaging that would be down the road to the hiring process down the road later when things pick back up if they were to lay people off right before Christmas?
Still I'm preparing myself 100%.
I had gone to the state employment office to find out what I had to do file for unemployment for the two weeks were off for Christmas. I told my supervisor what they had told me.
Next thing I knew? I get called to HR! They wanted to know what they had told me because they were clueless about the process? -
The ONLY difference between where I currently work and the Titanic is the Titanic had a band playing while she went down?
Well om.not waiting around for the command to "Man the Lifeboats!".
Let alone when the Lifeboats have already been launched and the command turns into "Every man for themselves"" -
Gunny376 Thanks this.
