If extreme heat keeps up and global warming is seen as an imminent threat, it wont be surprising if the Feds outlaw more older rigs and engines. If things get really bad(sooner not later) they might say only the cleanest engines and natural gas and no exceptions. It makes it hard to consider buying a used rig cause you might end up with a useless paperweight that is unsellable. Has anyone looked into a nat gas total conversion?
Would it be more than 20K for one??

i believe the tanks would be too large and heavy, buy i dont know for sure. when you convert a car you must install heavier springs in the rear as the tanks are usually mounted in the trunk. also i believe a diesel must run on a 60/40 mixture but a gasoline engine can run on 100% cng

A gas pickup would be about $1500 if you do the work yourself and find used tanks. Is that 10g for a diesel? ive got the garage and tools maybe i need to park and convert cng stuff

    Lower milage from LNG

    Harder too find fueling stations.

    I forget what else.

BIO Fuel is susposed too be all that. But from what I under stand it doesn't work well in winter.

I really doubt that would happen, the states will outlaw the truck before the feds step in.

1- an LNG converted engine needs spark plugs, so yes it would cost more than $20,000 considering most inframes cost more than that now.
2- yes they can pull heavy loads, Vedder Transport in Abbotsford BC runs a fleet pulling 140,000# up and down the Fraser Canyon to Cache Creek BC as well as a local milk fleet
3- LNG refueling sites are popping up all over the place, Flying J has them all over Canada and the US
4- LNG converted engines start on diesel and switch to LNG once they reach operating temp

    Edit:
5- CNG is Natural gas in a gas state whereas LNG is Natural gas compressed to where is liquified and Therefore stores much more efficiently.
