There was an old needle nose cement mixer sitting at a plant around a few years ago, knowing the guy who owns it a little, I'd bet it's sitting in his shop turning into truck/ratrod.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

what about the w900 in general? like the w900b w900l

I like the old style narrow look and old sleeper ie 1992.Just looked in Truck Paper can’t believe the prices on the old stuff.Looks like there may be some opportunity in the market right now.W900 is my favorite 1992. 1993. I think 1994 or 1995 was the newer look they were very nice also. Older one has a more retro look and with 2 rows of lights on sleeper over cab lights.Looks like a stairway of lights coming at you at night. Very cool looking Trucks

Wow that's bad, yet i witnessed a guy i know buy a used truck. 04 Freightliner columbia for $10k and been running hard all year without any major breakdowns and made that money back atleast 12 times. And you wouldn't believe what motor it has. A f@$kin MERCEDES BENZ motor, but of course it was overhauled and well maintained. So i've seen it with my own eyes, that it can be done by picking the right USED truck. And btw he hauls containers and doing well.Last edited: Oct 16, 2018
Tug Toy, Rideandrepair and 77fib77 Thank this. -
They are great trucks, you could buy one of those go to work tomorrow and make money with it. But generally speaking, if you put 60k into a w900, w900b, w900L, 379 Pete, 389 Pete, 378,587 Pete, Post 1985 Freightliner, post 1970’s International, or Volvo of any year, your gonna need to work the truck to get your money out of it. Putting 60k into a truck doesn’t bring the value up by 60k in any of those models. And it may change in the upcoming years but at this current time the W900A and 359 Peterbilt are the ones that hold value, are highly desired by truck collectors, and are the only ones that I would feel comfortable sinking 60k plus into. If I had to put one in front of the other I would probably put the A model ahead of the 359, which is not my preference but the market is Smoking Hott right now for a fully restored close to stock A model. Current value 130k to 200k. Which is amazing because they sold for 80k brand new back in 1981.
Again I’m sure there are other trucks that hold value that other drivers prefer, but at the moment the 359 and A model are super Hott right now, and have been for the past 10 yrs.Rideandrepair and RaRa Thank this. -
Find a beat to death A model and it'll be practically free. Just needs about $30k to make road legal again.
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
