I think you mentioned you’re in Phoenix. Why not give Knight Transportation a call? They’re located at 5601 W Buckeye rd. I think their cdl school shares the property with their company headquarters and Phoenix terminal.

Here's a cold, callous fact: trucking companies want more women behind the wheel because women are more compliant than men. It's just a fact that women will tolerate more crap than men.
I know, I know. There's that one mother, sister, or ex wife you know that won't tolerate being pushed around. She wasn't that way until she was abused.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
Schneider will have a better onboarding/orientation process than Swift IMO. It will be more friendly to older people.
Although once you get your own truck, Swift might have more freedom and less micromanagement.
About six months ago I went through most of the hiring process with Swift out of curiosity. Applied Friday, orientation was Monday and they wanted me to do all the training videos online at home before I even got there. Hammered me with high pressure texts/phones/emails all weekend long at all hours of the night and day . And I lost track of all the apps I was asked to download to my phone. Even the quack fly by night medical examiner office they use wanted me to download an app. It was overwhelming.
I showed up for one day because I wanted to see what the Dallas terminal was like. It was nice and clean, good A/C.
I was at least thirty years older than everyone else in orientation. Pushy arrogant women doing the orientation.
No thanks.
One good thing they did do was to give everybody a test to make sure they could read and understand the english language. Kudos for that.Last edited: Mar 17, 2025
