When I drive up I might take the high road, GWB-less, although 95 NORTH is free sailing in the wee hours.

Lobsters are great. Not into lobster tails much but the claws and tamale(?) get my attention!

Ain't stressing. If I can work it out to drop in on you and "what's his name" on the trip up...I'll do it. One time you told me you'd give me a meal and a bath if I came by. I'll forego the meal if you'll give me the bath!!!!!!!:biggrin_2559:

    (Shut up Dave!)

    Sonny....OBGYN!

Sorry to hear this! Make sure you check on your DAC report...it will only take them a couple weeks (or less to report)....the ones you call "the firing crew" or something like that are not the ones who send in the DAC info...that is supposed to be HR>

Advice?!...get busy quickly with one of those carriers you have talked to...Swift could put "Violation of Company Policy" as a generic reason for termination...without giving details...this is poison in the trucking industry!

I don't know B but I'm sure it factored into the firing. What happened there was that I had been on home time, was dispatched to pick up a load in Skowhegan, logged pre-trip(on a fresh page), and went to line 3 for the short trip to Skowhegan. Logged everything after that by the book. What I didn't do was log the hometime. Not smart, I know. I had left the bottom half of my previous 2-day log, which is where I had begun hometime (at the top) and where I should've logged the ending of the the hometime. I was more interested in getting to Skowhegan and picking up the load and getting on down the road than I was with taking a few seconds and completing my log book. (Delaying until later is stoooooopid!) What new drivers need to know is that you never know when DOT folks are gonna be be around and it really doesn't matter....log it as it happens!!!!

Sounds to me like you've been driving for many years with this go-getter attitude! Getting in trouble for working over your hours.....the hours of service reg is overrated!

The news of your departure from Swift has also come as a shock to me because I rarely see you complain about anything at all. I thought that things were going well for you over at Swift. Oh well, things happen for a reason. Take it easy, and relax. Enjoy the family! :biggrin_25514:

Thanks Jim. What I stated in the opening post will hold true for as long as this thread is alive. I will not bash Swift. I will move on to something else. I can drive a big truck. Of that I am certain. I have a multitude of things to learn and I will learn them. My initial goal of driving for 10+/- years to bolster my retired years' income has not changed. Plus, I love driving these big 'ol trucks! :biggrin_25525:

That new speed policy was scarey. I drive a 65mph truck now. My trainer makes the beeping noise when I go over 67! :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

The Memphis "Log Nazi" gets his sights set on you it can be rough! I had no idea you had all those service failures. Bad trip planning? There was ways to cheat on the paper at Swift. Just they keep a closer eye on you when you do something wrong. I had some OOS log violations that only Swift caught. Simple math errors that could have earned me a big fine.

I am looking forward to E-logs. It takes the dummy (me) out of the equation.

My new job I stay under 65hrs per week and go home everyday. No line 2.

Shame on you! You can't do it like the old days!

    Definetely check your DAC!

Well, as they say - the world has turned for you! Things happen for a purpose, and here's hoping this purpose will be beneficial to you. I'd take Otter's advice and hit the job search hard and quick! Perhaps there's a small outfit up there that does regional?

Good luck to you! Keep them black, round, funny-lookin' black doohickys down, and be safe. Congrats on the marriage too!!
