Are any of you team drivers and currently using Omnitracs? We're going into murky waters here.

I'm driving with a coworker, we're going to be operating as a team covering one of our resident drivers from across the state while he's on vacation.

As far as the Omnitracs, would we operate off of two devices or only one? My guess is we operate off of one, the device offers the capability of logging in a co-driver. I'm not sure we can get two separate devices to operate in sync..?

You should ask your company because Qualcom has a bunch of features that can be changed so maybe they have something different than another person.

One device. You both log in and select active driver. When you switch drivers the other driver goes active normally by putting there password in. Once that happens, your line 3 will be unclickable not allowing you to log drive time. Other drivers will go from grey to normal allowing them to log drive time. Then you just go back and forth

If everybody concerned has an Omnitracs account (user id) at the same carrier then you should both log in/out as appropriate on the single unit that is in the truck. (Assuming the truck and it's Omnitracs system is paired to the same carrier).

if we're talking about a "rental truck" then more information is needed or things need to be properly set up beforehand.

If this is not the case then I guess you can do whatever makes sense.

Are you asking how to run team's with the Qualcomm?

The codriver will login and it will track their hours. To change drivers, go into the login screen and the person that will be driving taps the change button to become the new active driver. Obviously you can only have one active driver at a time. Make sure the other person logs sleeper in 2 hours unless they are doing on duty work.

We have portable Samsung tablets assigned to each driver, our trucks have bluetooth relays mounted in each truck. So, for example, if my truck is in for service, I can drive one of our other ones, I simply have my tablet do a "search" of truck's relay.

    Not Qualcomm, Omnitracs.
We each have our own tablets.
