Sorry I can't help hardcore eccentric dog people.. Who would impose an animal on other people when asking for help in such a situation?
She has made it clear the dog is number 1 priority right off the bat. The kids are OK with the ex but not the dog. PUNCHING OUT.88228822 Thanks this. -
Need help? Ask we will guide you.
If you have common sense you will be fine.
Only thing I tell people is trucking is dead and is dying. Don’t expect to get rich or even climb the economic ladder. 3 weeks out 1 week home is for the ones content on staying where they are at. -
You might be in an area where you can get the cdl school paid for. Goodwill does this, for example.
Not all companies send you out for months with a trainer.
As someone who has been driving for 10 months and came up from nothing as well, I would suggest dropping the sob stories when seeking assistance. Organizations deal with mostly people who accept no responsibility for their situation. Own your lot in life, be serious, be on time, be dependable. And even then there will be obstacles to overcome. Overcome them. This is an excellent opportunity to prove what you are made of (talk is cheap, show me don't tell me). Anybody can say they know they can drive a truck, and it means nothing when you are a new driver trying to dock at some tiny customer in New Jersey and you barely even got the rig on the lot now you gotta back 'er in. You will have new information about yourself after that, I can assure you.Last edited: Jun 25, 2019

You'll be looking at about 3 weeks driving school. Then 6 weeks on the road with a trainer. During that time, no dog I am pretty sure, you will be living in another person's truck and space will be very limited.
After that you'll be issued a truck, and if the company is pet-friendly then you can have your dog. -
Seriously this isn't a Sunday drive in the park thing, it is one of the most dangerous jobs around. People get killed almost every day driving truck and if you are a marginal crap driver, you are a danger to everyone. Putting a kid and a dog in harms way is dumb and selfish. I've dealt with having drivers who had animals killed in an accident, and I have a no kid policy because of what I've seen happen to some kids while on the road.
Yesterday up the road from me someone was killed, he lost control and burned to death when a truck hit him, the truck went up in flames very fast as the witnesses said. He didn't have a chance to get out and I am thinking that he wasn't the cause but the other truck cut him off and hit him as the fault, it happened that fast. -
Above post is true btw. This is a dangerous job. But it can pay well. Be safe out there.Aamcotrans Thanks this. -
