Can you legally clock in as a cdl class A driver, work for 2hrs not driving, clock out, and clock back in 4hrs later without 10hrs off?

Yes. You have 14 hours to complete your day once you started the clock.

You can work as many hours anytime you want on duty not driving, after 14th hr can only drive if the 10 hr break is had.if you under 70 hrs.

Yes. Your 14 hours start when you begin working. It does not pause when you clock out.

The moment you start a new day that is your 14 hour clock for on duty purposes. Once that's burned off you stop for 10.

In my time that kind of straight through on duty is not productive at all. If it aint rolling wheels, you aint making money. And burning that kind of hours destroy your rest of the week's ability to serve your company's customers on that 70 hours.

It gets better... you can actually log On Duty Not Driving for 69 consecutive hours, take a 10 hour break and then still have an hour to drive.

    :)

The key word in your question was legally. As long as you do not go onto line 3 you can do most anything you like time and work wise. If you have logged that 2 hours on line 4 DO NOT try to drive after the 14th hour without a 10 hour break.

Edited to add a lot of drivers wont log dock time etc before the PTI and driving.
