That ain't the only one either. I've seen a few of these running around. Guaranteed to draw a crowd as soon as you back it in.

Well not a demand exactly, but one of the reasons behind the demands.

I didn't know trucking companies were in the business of making their drivers look cool. I bet his boss didn't know that either.

    And now some actual demands.

Apparently he can't look cool in blue trucks. Must clash with his eye color or something. Either way these seem like idiotic demands to me. If you disagree, you disagree but that's how I see it.

Maybe on the color if the company had a certain color scheme they wanted on all the trucks but they don't seem to. If they're ordering them brand new I don't think there's any additional cost unless you're trying to get some specialty color. It might be an unreasonable request on its own but in this case it's just one more thing on a sizable pile.

Funny, I was out for a few nights and was running with some of our other drivers. One of them was tellign me that he was over at the Peterbuilt dealer in Fargo few weeks ago and two of our over the road drivers were picking up their new 389s. Yeap, 389s with 70 inch bunks. I guess one of them has only been with the company about 3 years.

Its is kind of funny, they are pulling reefers with the areo stuff on the bottom yet doing it with a big square hood. I would think the powers that be would be looking at only getting aero trucks for the OTR guys pulling reefers.

Oh I got passed by a motorcycle on Monday while going south on Manitoba highway 10 south of Brandon MB.

I don't care about the color and I'd bet when it comes down to it Rat doesn't either. I bet if his boss gave him the keys to a new 389 glider with a 700hp PDI ECM, loaded interior he wouldn't care if it was pink. Last truck I ordered for a driver was a W900L with a 36" sleeper, loaded with a 550 Cat, 13spd and the driver picked light brown as the color. Looked horrible, even the dealer questioned the color choice, but he had to drive it so it was his decision. And what's funny the sleeper was NEVER used in the 800k miles he drove it. And I knew it would never be used when I ordered it but the driver wanted the extra room so he got it. I'm not driving a POS and I don't expect anyone else to. I've got black trucks, grey, maroon, purple and bright orange. I've had my eye on this one for a while and if it wasn't a POS ISX that's going to cost me $20k to delete all the junk off of it I would own it by now. This isn't one of Rat's color choices but I'm sure he would have no problem driving it and I bet it won't rattle and fall apart like the plastic aero trucks. Sucks it's a Cummins!:biggrin_25510:

Give it up Gremlin your not gonna win an argument with someone basing his knowledge off BIG Mother Truckers.

Rat sounds like OTR guys get what they want. Maybe to you it doesn't make any sense but your not paying the bills. Your boss is not basing a decision on anything other than bottom line.

Kinda ironic how basing his decisions off his BOTTOM LINE made him buy 389's huh?

Apparently he didn't get the memo how they only way a guy can make money is with a small engine wrapped in recycled milk jugs.:biggrin_2559:

Have them strap a 63 or bigger bunk on it a steerable pusher and I will put more then 800K on it no problem. As long as it can tug around at 105,500+ with some authority The color is different so it would not bother me. I just hate cement truck white or baby blue.

I was trying to wrap my head around white etc for a few days, was thinking if they had darker fenders on it, and alot of darker graphics on it to break up the white a bit. Maybe a matching cap to the fenders. Just some thoughts.

So I can be swayed slightly but no swaying me from the classic big hood and a minimum 63 inch sleeper. I spend enough nights in the truck to justify the sleeper size. If I was spending more nights in the truck then I would not have anything less then a 70 inch with a fridge in it. Would need the extra space so I can put a microwave etc in the truck and still have room for clothes etc.
