Finally, some free time to give an update. So far, I'm getting a very realistic view of the life. Although the last couple days aren't typical, they do happen. I met my trainer at 4pm, and the spot where he had a delivery the next day at 2am. So, I unpacked my stuff, and tried to settle in as best as I could. There was less room than I thought I'd have (be prepared for that). My bunk is roomy enough, but a lot of my stuff has to stay up on my bunk with me. By the time I got to sleep, it was about 8. I didn't sleep very well because of a crowded bed. The next night, I figured out how to Tetris everything so that it was a lot more comfortable. I'll have to move my food and cooler every day but at least I have room now. I slept much better last night. Here's how my first couple days went. We got our first aforementioned load unloaded in Akron. It went quick, but it was a split load, and we had to head to Cleveland to drop off the other half. That load was due at 5am, we got there around 3:30. Supposedly they opened at 4, so we were hoping for an early unload. NOPE. They didn't get to us until 6:30. Next, deadhead back to Akron to pick up a load going to Georgia. It took almost 4 hours for them to get us loaded. Up to this point, my trainer was driving because he didn't want me to do any night driving until I got used to the truck. I was grateful for that. So after all of this waiting around, we are ready to go and it's my turn to drive. I figured that we'd get started to Georgia but I didn't realize how far he was expecting to go before the day was over. I figured since we started so early, we wouldn't be going real far. NOPE AGAIN. 385 miles later we were parked at a quaint little mom-and-pop truck stop in Kentucky, 49 miles from Tennessee. Yowza. What a day. I grabbed a shower and some food and crashed immediately. Today, we finished our trip, and then headed to our Cartersville location because our truck needs a B Service and a grease pack for the automatic greaser system. We were told that we might be here at the terminal until 3am
Again, days like this aren't the norm, but they do happen. Welcome to my road education lol

A week's worth of clothes, meds and bathroom stuff, laptop, mouse, tablet, headphones, a couple towels, a washcloth, a week's worth of refrigerated goods in my cooler, and a milk crate for my dry goods. The only thing I could have done without is my laptop.
