Conway may want $2k... but it's $2k well spent.

Also check out Prime in Springfield, MO. Their training program consists of a one week orientation to get your CDL permit... then several weeks out with a trainer before you go back to get your license. I know Springfield and their facility well... it's a good company. Worth a call!

In any case... you're on the right track checking things out. You can do better than CRE.

Right now I'm liking roehl the best, but with the differences being kinda big between companies, the more that I consider, the better. Getting ready for the hurricane to come hit, so putting this on hold for a bit. I live on a boat on the chesapeake.

So what you gonna do? Motor out to sea past the storm? Or find a dry dock and go inland? Whatever you do I hope you and your boat are safe.

we just doubled our tie downs at the marina, and we are going to stay at the hotel on base. its looking like its going to get a bit windy. hopefully Ill still have a boat on Monday. the prep isn't as bad as I was expecting.
I talked to the doc at slc for cre and he said just to get a letterhead letter from my doc giving me the anti depressants stating that I have no restrictions, and thats about it.
even though I've been a stay at home dad and without work for the past 4 years, cre is willing to hire me when most every other company wont. roehl maybe the exception to that. My app with them is still in process.I should note that I haven't contacted Schneider yet. maybe Im a sucker for marketing but if they really have flexible home time, they might be the one that I make my goal.
This process reminds me of applying for college a bit, with the recruiters and applying everywhere, seeing who will accept you, and who has the best deal. I I could just find the trucker equivalent of UC San Diego, I'll be set.

Run as fast as you can from CRE!!!!! I almost went with them but this website made me run the other way. I understand there is a couple angry ones out there but out of 500 posts 3 are happy with that company. Go to a school first then talk to some of the bigger companies out there. That is what im doing and let me tell you there are better options than CRE.

Well, against the advise of a few. I am on the bus to go to school at cre. I talked to many different companies, and the choice came down to both the fact that someone that I. Actually know had told me they were a good company.that was many years ago, but still. And also that the preliminary process has been pretty good. I spoke to doc pearse at slc. He told me what I needed to know, to get me cleared for the dot physical. Ill most likely need a sleep study, but I already have approval from my insurane company. I will update this thread as both good and bad things arise. I'm not a c fanboy, and I'm not against them either. I simply want trained, and on the road.

well its thursday and Im into my first week. we are at a nice hotel the sleep inn hotel in waxahachie tx. some ppl are in the maybe worst hotel in tx, the american inn. i got lucky though. it seems that they fill up the ghetto hotel first, so if you decide to come down here, the later you can come, the better. like late afternoon the day before class starts would be best.
the class has about 70 people in it, and it seems like alot of ppl are serious about the school, but also as many that are not. the completion rate is 48% and that make sense to me. alot didnt pass the physical. as far as the quality of education, I would have to say its not bad. I just passed the written, but because I had a class B i only had to take one section. the instructor is definitely seeming to get stricter and stricter every day, I dont know what to make of that. hes not being a douche or anything, just seems irritated, and setting new rules. still, Im excited about starting the hands on part of the training.
the hours are pretty grueling though. i get up at 415a and dont get back to the hotel till abour 715p lunchtime now later,................
