Hundreds of people can say don't do something, and no one listens. It makes you want to pull your hair out. I quit trying. I just keep watching, and hope the posters come back and admit it when the stuff hits the fan, which 95% of the time it does.

All I will say if you do you homework and really check it out ALL trucking companies are the same in one way or the other.......everyone of them have people talking bad about them or such...my true advise is....listen with an open ear....look with open eyes...and then judge for yourself.....i have talk to a bunch of drivers on the road and you hear the same about each company.

I just finished my phase 1 training with CRE, and while I know there are better and worse people to work for, I've noticed several things during my time at CRE so far. 1. I wish I found this site sooner. 2. Are there better companies to start in this industry? Absolutely. 3. As much negative as there is about CRE, if you look beyond being the slowest fleet on the road, there are some positives (just not the hotels). 4. As I've already set my goals and committed to a year, I have my foot in the door and I'm getting miles under my belt as experience for a "better" company.
My only major issue with CRE at this point is just what someone posted early on in this thread (I'm sorry I forgot who it was or I'd give you props for it)...recruiters will promise you the moon and tell you everything you want to hear, and then you come to find out 98% of it was just to get you to the school. C,est la vie.
So, all the drivers who have passed me in the last 30 days, I'm sure you'll be passing me again soon, and to the very few I've passed, thanks for letting me feel good for a minute before blowing my doors offcatahoula Thanks this. -
I'm interested to hear other peoples opinions , but that doesn't obligated me to follow some random advise. Some has been good and I've used it. I've thusfar had a rather pleasent experience. Others around me seem happy with the school. I am in the sleep in hotel, though. The ghetto hotel that many others are in would no doubt affect my moral. I'm not suspicious, but calmly alert. I'll keep an eye out for the horrrors mention by others, but so far I think I made a good decision.

I hope things work out for you. Maybe CRE has changed some lately. Either way, please keep people informed with however things turn out. Recent, reasonable post, of either good or bad, will give new people more information when looking for a place to go to work.
It's the crazy, unintelligible post, or the everything is just wonderful, it can't any better type of post, that make people read and dismiss them as either a misfit disgruntled employee, or a company shill, that made those types of post. -
Everything is what you make it to be. If you go to any school with a lot of negative, you're going to have a negative experience. If you go with a positive attitude, your experience will be much better. It has been my life experience that you get what you put in, no more,, no less. So, after my very short time on the road, and keeping my focus on my own personal goals, I am getting exactly what I put in. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about where to go to learn how to drive a big truck, I chose CRE, I set my goals and I am working towards achieving them. In time, I am positive that I will.
There are many drivers who want to bash this company or that company. That's cool, I have my fair share of companies I can bash as well, but I choose not to. It is my OPINION that no matter where you decide to take your training, you will always get back what you put in. It will just take longer with some places than with others. -
In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, I've noticed that more and more people who send text messages and emails have long forgotten the art of capitalization.
For those of you who fall into this category, please take note of the
following statement...
"Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a
horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse."
sweetcakes, venne and corneileous Thank this. -
Today we learn to parallel park. Wish me luck. On an aside, I'm trying to be as objective as possible. I know that a lot of people are not having the experience that I'm having. Hell, the lady sitting next to me is absolutely miserable.
GSWx Thanks this. -
Alright, so I am on a bus headed to waxa-something Texas. Not knowing if the decision I made was at all smart. But just as in the military met some good people going the same way. I unfortunatly was one of the students sent home the first day...blood pressure issues...was very disapointing. hope to get back in time to continue training and get ahold of the coveted A CDL..Props to you Dylan keep the good attitude and you'll be fine.
Dylan.J Thanks this. -
Neil B. Sorry about your BP test. Did they take the BP several times over an hour or just once? All the best to you.
