I have only done a few days driving, and I've hopped off the truck. my driving was great according to my trainer, though in 3rd and 7th i tend to throw it into gear. bad habit of being a short armed induvidual.

anyhow the reason i hopped off was the truck had an air leak and the trainer didnt seem too concerned with it, even knowing he would fail any kind of dot check. we had 2 trainees in the truck and it seemed a bit too much. even though i had not gotten enough sleep i was told that i needed to drive in denver morning rush hour after only 1 previous driving shift EVER.

I got a bit anxious and after that denver drop, my anxiety level didnt decrease for a few hours. since I was to immediately load and go out again, with being as tired as i was, I said an apparently magic word when i said "I don't know if its safe." I was pulled out of te seat and told to call my Training coordinator. He offered to put me with another trainer, and I said sure, after a couple days of home time. So here I am, at home. Since Im home, Ive decided to use this time to look at other options, and have noticed that schneider will hire me, reimburse me for the school costs, and give me a 6 on/3 off dedicated route right fro the jump. i applied, and am waiting for my checks to go through. within a couple days, Ill expect to get a job offer from them, and have to decide between england, and schneider. any tips?

I should state that I have already paid for my cdl and dont owe england any cash at all. in fact they owe me about 400.

the only possible future I now see wit england is if hey get a dedicated route out of baltimore or somewhere close to me. rght now they have nothing that I'd want, besides otr experience.

with schneider I can possibly reach my goal of having a decent paying driving job, and still maintain some kind of home life. 6 on/3off sounds just about perfect to me. and the facility that Id use is only 20 minutes away? sweet deal.

the only issue here for me is one of work ethics. do I stay with the company that I got my cdl with. Im not even throguh their training program even though I have my cdl. on the other hand, i did "graduate" their cdl program when I passed the test, and got my cdl. and Schneider wil reimburse those costs.

I must say that england sending me home was the best thing that could have happened to me! I am now finishing up my first week with Stevens Transport, ahead of schedule I might add. What a different approach to a big company school in comparison, to where I was. I am actually happy with my decision to come here. For all that are gonna say "just wait"...save it. It is a good fit for me and my life. Haven't had any negatives other than people can't be quiet long enough for the instructors to do thier jobs. I am only entertaining good and positive thoughts until MY experience shows me otherwise.

Good luck to you Dylan sounds like you have a good plan. Just sorry we couldn't follow through with ours.

Can't wait to be out there on the road with everyone!
