OK so what I know about gauges is never trust them 100% when they are close still scale. Now the air pressure does not change based on elevation but the density does now also your air bags should self adjust and maintain a certain pressure I believe based on a height control valve or the like someone more knowledgeable can explain the mechanisms better than me the reason a bottle will change is because it is sealed the airbags will add and remove air as necessary to maintain a predetermined pressure. The density of the air may change but the system with automatically compensate for it.
Just to confirm you allowed your air bags to "settle" before checking the gauges correct? I drop a few cascadia with just a psi readout on fifth wheel and always aimed for just under 60 for 34k on drives I had to let it settle after backing under it would also fluctuate while driving due to inclines and declines o. The roadway as you can imagine if your going down hill weight is transferred forward and uphill backwards but levels out if your on level ground... This could be your air bags compensating for this or a chance the device that does this is somewhat faulty
Disclaimer I am no mechanic but I can see how it works in my head maybe you understood my explanation maybe not.

The pressure is greater at sea level than it is at 5000 feet.
Keep going up and eventually there will be no pressure.

Let me rephrase the pressure in his bags and tanks should not change but be controlled yes atmospheric pressure will change due to the change In air density
