Once i get my cdl permit, what trucking comapines is a good fit for me to appy to?

I would talk to Watkins Shepard if your going to get your CDL on your own. Make sure you go to an approved school for them. 10 day orientation then solo. Out of all of the starter companies they seem to be one of the best.

 

Good thinking. And I can help you with a very unexpensive School but yet REALLY GOOD, in Georgia. You sign with them, in three weeks your have you CDL. ANd they can finance it too.

Wooly Rhino nailed it with "Just keep your head down and survive your first year." This industry is tough and a lot of folks do not make it for lots of reasons. Get ready for nothing but 14-16 hours days in the first year and the potential to deal with a lot of BS from your dispatcher(s). Good luck with the process!
