    1. I have my company with two trucks. My truck has been hauling under one authority with feed and my sister will be getting her truck under another companies authority to haul milk. Can my company work under two authorities and how does that affect insurance, IFTA, FMCSA and so forth?
    2. I have my own IFTA account do I need to report to both authorities or the authority that each truck is under?

The company does not have to have every truck registered under the authority.

You leave your truck under your authorty and you lease the other truck to the other company which is completely seperate from your authority, the ifta and other things are separate too, the leased truck is under that authority and so are taxes and such which is reported under that authority by that company.

The problem with this is trying to run one truck under two separate authorities. The truck will have to be insured by each company. So you will pay two separate insurance premiums. You will also be required to swap door signs and dot# every time you swap back and forth. You will be required to keep up with two different insurance certificates and two separate lease agreements.

I mean, it can be done. But if it’s financially worth it or not is something you have to decide.

unless I misunderstood and you are dedicating one truck to each. In which that’s not a big deal at all.
