Get a block of wood and hammer the step back to where its supposed to be. Get a wire brush and remove the yellow paint and if that doesn't work get some aluminum touch up paint. Then pretend like it was always that way.
One of many mistakes; company driver

wow. anyone thats ever bought a truck for someone else to drive would cringe at all the help on this thread.
"just hide it and lie"

ah well.....you find out what a persons ethics are worth when it may cost them something to be ethical. -

I've owned all my stuff, just so you know. Right before leaving Werner I even bought (those points were #### handy, I'll say) a new mudflap to replace the one I backed over and ripped off - bracket and all.
Only truck in the fleet with a Loves flap. I hope they wonder about it. Lol.mlefler Thanks this. -
Owning up to a mistake I made has paid dividends over the years.
" look I screwed up here is simply what happened tell me what I can do to make it right without dinging my record and I'll take care of it". Look... as hard as it is to keep drivers a tongue lashing and it's over with. Just learn from it. Oh BTW that dump BP is a freakin' Rat hole
d amn riff raff banging on your doors all night long. Thank God I never will have to go to places like that ever again to hell with that Campbells plant. If they can't provide drivers with a place to park as long as it takes them to load trucks they just need to shut the place down. Just my opinion.Kyle G. and LandslideRich Thank this. -
You can get the yellow paint off with Lacquer Thinner which you can buy at any hardware store or probably walmart. You might even be able to take the step off and turn it around so the damage faces in. I would have bit the bullet and called it in when it first happened. If they fired you for that then they aren't worth working for. S#!t like that happens and as long as you weren't drunk, stoned or acting in any irresponsible manor the worst they should is make you pay for the damage. (Unless, of course you're under contract and risk getting stuck with a 5k tab for driving school.) At this point I would just get the yellow paint off and say you got hit at the truck stop.
