I choose to ride over those who want to advice this one to lie.

It's far better to say Boss, I did it. I broke your truck. Fire me. Boss just might take it out of your pay a couple of months. You'll learn.

Fix it as best as you can. If asked about it, Don't lie. Just tell the truth.
You were looking for a job when you found this one. But make an honest attempt to fix it.

Yep paying out of pocket might hurt a lil bit....but one thing about it, you will most definitely learn a valuable lesson. But only if you choose to learn from it

    There is another path.

Fix the truck in the TA or 76 tell the mechanic never you mind what happened. That fender is bust, can you do it? Yes that will cost two thousand do you have it? Yes here. Cash.

7 months later bossman comes running HEY! GET IN HERE you (*&* lying cheating theiving 2000 dollar sob what did you do to that truck fender? Takes a while for the paper work to wind it's way past the army of office drones moving mountains of similar papers tending to 1000 trucks every week. He he he.

I do not encourage that today, those trucks these days are computerized. IF anything is done to them it's recorded.

So why are you worrying about it now? I'm guessing it's more than a guilty conscience that leads you to start this thread.

You can get the yellow paint off and fix the step by not hitting the yellow post.
