Everyone keeps missing the point here, the OP needs to go to court, here in Cali whether I had a violation or was seating in the court room, every judge was linent to individuals specially if you had a commercial license. Unless you have a history of having violations then your out of luck. I myself had a red light ticket dismiss. I seen judges reduce fines and drop misdemeanor violations to infractions and even lesser. The OP should go to court in person and just tell the judge he is guilty but to please charge the violation to a lesser charge.
