Doing what i want when i want, & not a dang peorson can tell me otherwise. If i don’t like what you have to offer i simply say “sorry, i’m not availble that day”

Having your own authority is best, especially with trailer interchange agreements. This is also why you keep in touch with people from high school. Locals will throw locals work. I can haul nursey one day, flowers the next, equipment, steel, pilings the next, or drag a tank full of poo. You never know. It’s also why you don’t burn bridges. I still on occasion pull for my last company gig.

Home most every night, rarely work more than a 10hr day, & i choose the work i want to do on any given day. There is always options.

I love being free to do whatever I want. Not so fond of not having work when I want it though. At least working for someone else I still was paid even if we sat around the office all day.

Sometimes I get tired of 200 mile runs that only pay $2500.

O/O truck driving is the best if you don’t have the right degree and connections, are introverted, hate having a boss, and have wanderlust.

    #### you, dick

I mean this in the nicest way possible.

Shouldn’t you be redistributing that wealth?

I’m sure the government will get plenty of it next April. I wish I always got loads like those. My current one has a 750 mile deadhead and 1277 mile linehaul and only pays $6416 and we have to run it around the clock so sometimes we gotta work for the money.

As far as I'm concerned Regional or OTR is the only thing that does pay. Seems like people will work just to trade dollars just to be home every night. I responded to an email I got from a random trucking co./ broker looking for O/O to help out with some local and regional work. When I questioned him on the rates of the local stuff it was a bunch of $200 here $150 there stuff. He even said "It doesn't pay well but it's steady work to keep you busy all year around" That's pretty much why I've never done the local thing other than something that might come up 1-2 times a year that lasts for a week or so.
