I just spoke with Roadmasters out of SLC. They tell me they will have up to four students in the truck training. They say its better so that you can watch others and learn from them a little as well. She did say each student will get drive time as required to graduate. While I can see the logic in it, I am not sure if it would be better to have one on one training while in the truck like Sage says they have. But I am not sure.![]()
I know recuriters will say a lot to get you in the class, but I do see both sides of it. Roadmasters also say that the Sage training is not as thorogh as Roadmasters, but I am sure Sage will say the same about Roadmasters.
Anyone have any input as to what would be better.
One on one training or group...

I went to Sage in SLC (graduated last month) and I think they had a complete course or at least the same as what Roadmaster offers in regards to class time. I like Sage because you get a guaranteed 44 hours of behind the wheel by yourself in their 150 hour course. Of the 44 hours, 24 hours is around town/freeways and the other 20 hours is backing practice. Basically, when I did my research between the two schools, I decided that I wanted as much behind the wheel time as possible instead of the minimum to get me to pass the test. Sage is a better choice in my opinion.
LostOne9 and harley4life Thank this. -
Ill second that, that Sage is the better option. For me that is the reason i am going to Sage is cause they give you one on one instruction. You dont have anyone back in the berth making fun of you
, or feel like being rushed through what you are trying to do.
just my 2 cents

I'm in a different situation than most people here. I'm active duty in the military so I can't go out and apply to most companies. I have however found a part time job where I drive to Rawlins, WY and back one or two Friday nights a month. Anyways, I know people that have graduated from Sage in SLC have been hired by May, Clark and Sons (smaller company based here in SLC), Swift, Watkins Shepard, and the list goes on and on. The only company that I have been told that does not hire from Sage (here in SLC) is Crete. I don't know the exacts behind that.
Again, I would suggest Sage. My second time ever driving a truck I was driving north on State street. We got into the downtown area and I started getting nervous. The instructor was calm which helped me. If there would've been other students watching me and commenting I wouldn't have been able to calm down. I personally can't learn a thing by watching someone else. That's just me. -
Witch ever you chose I hope you are happy Good Luck Be Safe and Happy job Hunting after you are done with school

Its a hard choice to make. I am sure either school will give me the training I need to get a job. I will just have to get info on both schools and just make a choice. Thanks for the info. Be safe out there.
